The half-order energy balance equation – Part 2: The inhomogeneous HEBE and 2D energy balance models

چکیده
Abstract. In Part 1, I considered the zero-dimensional heat equation, showing quite generally that conductive–radiative surface boundary conditions lead to half-ordered derivative relationships between fluxes and temperatures: energy balance equation (HEBE). The real Earth, even when averaged in time over weather scales (up ≈ 10 d), is highly heterogeneous. this 2, treatment extended horizontal direction. first consider a homogeneous Earth but with spatially varying forcing on both plane sphere: new equations are compared canonical 1D Budyko–Sellers equations. Using Laplace Fourier techniques, derive generalized HEBE (the GHEBE) based space–time operators. analytically solve GHEBE show how these operators can be given precise interpretations. then full inhomogeneous problem horizontally diffusivities, thermal capacities, climate sensitivities, forcings. For use Babenko's operator method, which generalizes methods. By expanding at high low frequencies, 2D used for macroweather forecasting, projections, studying approach (equilibrium) states forcings all increased held constant.

The peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) and the retinoid X receptors (RXRs) are ligand-activated transcription factors that coordinately regulate gene expression. This PPAR-RXR transcriptional complex plays a critical role in energy balance, including triglyceride metabolism, fatty acid handling and storage, and glucose homeostasis: processes whose dysregulation characterize obe...

Although the cut-off point is not clearly defined, and has great interindividual variability, age-related changes in energy balance of adults appear to be divided into two distinct, non-symmetric phases: the first phase is typically associated with a positive energy balance and an increase in weight and adiposity (but with a decrease in muscle mass), with more than 20% of the US adult populatio...

The physiological mechanisms that control energy balance are reciprocally linked to those that control reproduction, and together, these mechanisms optimize reproductive success under fluctuating metabolic conditions. Thus, it is difficult to understand the physiology of energy balance without understanding its link to reproductive success. The metabolic sensory stimuli, hormonal mediators and ...

Energy balance results from the exact equilibrium between caloric intake and caloric expenditure. A caloric intake larger than caloric expenditure results in overweight, even obesity, but other determinants, like hormonal dysfunction and/or genetic traits may play a part in obesity syndrome. Obesity, and even overweight, have been recognized as risk factors for the development of cancers. Human...
